Exchange Point is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit that supports a range of initiatives dedicated to transformative technology and social justice that prioritize work that advances public interest technology and open ecosystems.
Exchange Point was started by Mallory Knodel, founder and Executive Director of the Social Web Foundation and the Internet Exchange Newsletter. She previously served as Chief Technology Officer at the Center for Democracy and Technology (CDT), focusing on encryption, censorship, and cybersecurity. Mallory co-chairs the Human Rights Protocol Considerations research group of the Internet Research Task Force and advises the Freedom Online Coalition and the Open Technology Fund. A prolific author, she is known for demystifying technology and challenging misconceptions.
